1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scanon.ai ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Service Description

Scanon.ai provides AI-powered media redaction services that automatically detect and blur sensitive information including faces, license plates, and tattoos in images and videos. Our service is designed with privacy as the core principle.

Key Features:

Zero data retention — all media is processed in-memory and immediately discarded
Anonymous account creation — no email or personal information required
Automatic EXIF metadata stripping
Real-time processing with immediate results

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, all activities that occur under your account, and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.

We offer anonymous accounts that do not require email addresses. However, this means account recovery is not possible if you lose your credentials.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

Upload content that violates any applicable laws or regulations
Upload content containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child exploitation
Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
Use automated systems to scrape or abuse the Service
Upload content you do not have the legal right to process
Circumvent usage limits or payment requirements

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

5. Content and Privacy

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the media you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a temporary, limited license to process your media solely for the purpose of providing the redaction service.

Zero Retention: All uploaded media is processed entirely in-memory and immediately discarded after processing. We do not store, cache, or retain any uploaded files or processed results on our servers.

Download Responsibility: Once processed, you are responsible for downloading your redacted media. We cannot recover media after your session ends.

6. Pricing and Payment

Free Credits: All new accounts receive 3 free credits to try the Service.

Paid Plans: Additional credits can be purchased through our pricing plans. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Pricing is subject to change with notice.

Credit Usage: Each image processed uses 1 credit. If you run out of credits, you may still process images, but they will contain a watermark. To remove the watermark, you must purchase additional credits.

Refund Policy: Due to the immediate nature of credit consumption during processing, credits are non-refundable once used. Unused credits do not expire.

Failed Processing: If processing fails due to a service error (not user error), credits will not be deducted from your account.

7. Service Limitations and Disclaimers

Beta Status: The Service is currently in beta. Some features may be incomplete or under development.

AI Accuracy: While our AI models are highly accurate, we cannot guarantee 100% detection of all sensitive information. You are responsible for reviewing processed media before distribution.

Service Availability: We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

File Limitations: Maximum file size 50MB. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, MP4, MOV, WebP. Video processing available for paid plans only.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, algorithms, designs, logos, and trademarks, are owned by Scanon.ai or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our explicit written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANON.AI AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scanon.ai, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any rights of another party, or content you upload to the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, illegal activity or suspected fraud, or prolonged inactivity (12+ months with no usage). You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease immediately. Unused credits are forfeited upon account deletion.

12. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States.

Arbitration: Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scanon.ai regarding the Service.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
